Senior Test Automation Engineer - €400/day - Remote (Contract)

We are seeking a Senior Test Automation Engineer to support a major project centred around AI-driven agentic systems and workflow automation. You will design and implement advanced automation frameworks, working closely with Engineering, Product and DevOps teams to ensure best-in-class quality across multiple workstreams. This role is fully remote.

Key Responsibilities

• Embed test automation across the release pipeline for three workstreams, ensuring defects are identified early.

• Own agentic QA, end-to-end functional testing and performance verification.

• Build automated coverage for agent interactions, data transformations and workflow logic.

• Implement automated contract testing between applications.

• Estimate, prioritise and plan all testing activities.

• Design, develop and execute automated test suites for complex, AI-enabled software workflows.

• Recommend and apply modern AI-powered test practices and cloud-native automation approaches.

• Create and maintain automation scripts, investigate failures, document defects (Jira) and work closely with engineering teams.

• Contribute to automation strategy and ensure frameworks remain fit-for-purpose.

• Execute end-to-end testing in cloud environments.

• Implement security testing automation within CI/CD pipelines.

• Maintain automation infrastructure and promote continuous quality delivery with a Shift-Left mindset.

• Diagnose and troubleshoot complex issues, maintaining clear test documentation.

• Manage test assets and drive process improvements.

• Participate in product reviews and act as a quality advocate across the project.

• Mentor junior colleagues.

Required Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field.

• Minimum 3 years’ experience in test automation development.

• AWS Certification + ISTQB Test Automation Engineer certification.

• Strong hands-on experience with Selenium, Cypress or Playwright.

• Proficient in Python, Java or TypeScript.

• CI/CD tooling experience (GitHub, Jenkins, etc.).

• Knowledge of Docker/Kubernetes.

• Strong API, contract testing and performance testing experience.

• Database experience (MongoDB, SQL Server).
