Senior Front-end Software Engineer (React)
Salary: up to £85,000
Location: Fully remote (UK, EU, or North America time zones)

We’re hiring a Senior Front-end Software Engineer to join a fast-growing startup in the sustainability and renewables space.

The business is in an accelerated build phase, scaling both its customer-facing and internal platforms. This role will play a key part in shaping the web and mobile experiences that sit on top of a growing data and intelligence platform.

You’ll work closely with product, design, and backend engineering to build high-quality, scalable front-end systems, with real influence over architecture, UX, and technical direction.

The role

• Build and maintain performant web applications using React, Next.js, TypeScript, TailwindCSS and shadcn

• Develop reusable components and front-end architecture to support a growing product ecosystem

• Lead implementation of the design system and UX layer in partnership with design

• Collaborate closely with backend and full-stack engineers to integrate with platform services

• Contribute to and support a React Native mobile application as part of a unified front-end team

• Balance rapid MVP delivery with scalable, maintainable engineering practices

About you

• 5+ years’ professional experience in front-end engineering

• Strong experience with React and TypeScript in production environments

• Hands-on experience with React, Next.js, TailwindCSS and component-based architectures

• Solid understanding of state management, responsive design, and performance optimisation

• Exposure to data visualisation tools such as D3.js, Recharts, or Mapbox

• Comfortable working in a remote, distributed team with a high degree of autonomy

Nice to have

• Experience with React Native and cross-platform design systems

• Familiarity with Supabase or similar backend-as-a-service platforms

• Background building data-heavy or analytics-focused interfaces
