Our client is a respected SaaS company delivering robust, high-volume software platforms used across the UK and increasingly abroad. Their mission is to simplify financial and transactional processes with clean, elegant engineering. You won’t find bloat, bureaucracy, or outdated tech here — just small, focused teams solving tough problems at scale.
They’re hiring a senior C# back-end engineer to help lead feature development across some of their most strategically important product areas.
Why you’ll want this job:
You’ll work on systems that require performance, precision, and resilience — powering everything from lender integrations to dynamic pricing tools. You’ll have a strong voice in architecture, deployment, and technical direction. No micro-management, no pointless layers of approval — just meaningful engineering work in a calm, delivery-focused environment.
The stack + environment:
-
C# and .NET Core across the back end
-
AWS-based microservices architecture
-
Messaging with RabbitMQ, SNS/SQS
-
PostgreSQL, Cassandra
-
CI/CD pipelines for daily releases
-
Git, code reviews, rapid feedback loops
-
Supportive squad-based delivery model
What you’ll be doing:
-
Designing back-end services from scratch – no boilerplate or cookie-cutter code
-
Building out secure, high-availability APIs
-
Collaborating with other engineers and product leads on solution design
-
Writing clean, scalable C# code
-
Leading by example: mentoring others, improving processes, shaping engineering standards
You’ll also get protected weekly time to focus on your own learning and development — whether that’s tech research, upskilling, or experimenting with new tools.
What you’ll need:
-
Strong hands-on experience in C#/.NET Core
-
Experience with distributed, event-driven systems
-
A solid understanding of message queues (RabbitMQ, SQS/SNS etc.)
-
Strong grasp of data and performance concerns at scale
-
A thoughtful, product-focused engineering mindset
-
Bonus: experience in fintech, ecommerce, or business automation domains
What’s in it for you:
-
Join a culture of trust, autonomy, and high technical standards
-
Work from home with minimal in-office time
-
23 days holiday plus extras (birthday, wellness day, bank hols)
-
Extra holiday for each year of service
-
Access to learning platforms, books, and conferences
-
Inclusive, feedback-driven engineering culture
-
Genuinely nice people. No egos, no blame, no silos.
If you’re a strong .NET developer who wants to work on software that matters — in a company that respects its engineers — this is worth a chat.
