The Opportunity

Join a global SaaS organisation in the midst of a major digital transformation - a once-in-a-generation modernisation of how technology enables intelligent marketplaces, data-driven decisioning, and seamless customer journeys across Europe.

This is a principal-level engineering role at the centre of a bold, multi-country digital initiative, building a new platform that is reshaping how industries connect, trade and operate in real time.

Why It’s Exceptional

You’ll be joining a business investing heavily in product innovation and cloud technology, working with talented engineers who are redefining how large-scale platforms are built and run. This is a high-influence position — the ideal move for a senior engineer ready to take architectural ownership, mentor others, and drive the engineering vision behind a major European programme.

The Mission

As Principal Front-End Engineer, you’ll set the technical direction for a large, distributed engineering team, ensuring the delivery of elegant, scalable, and performant user interfaces built around modern React and TypeScript frameworks. You’ll work hand-in-hand with product, UX and back-end engineering teams to craft cloud-native solutions that scale across multiple markets and millions of transactions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and lead the front-end architecture and strategy for a complex digital platform.
  • Build and evolve modern, reusable, and accessible UI components using React and related technologies.
  • Champion engineering best practices including CI/CD, automated testing, and code quality standards.
  • Collaborate with back-end and DevOps teams to ensure seamless integration and deployment in a cloud environment (Azure or similar).
  • Mentor and develop engineers across multiple squads, inspiring technical excellence and knowledge sharing.
  • Influence platform-wide design and contribute to strategic technology decisions across the product suite.

What You’ll Bring

  • Expert-level experience in React, TypeScript, and modern JavaScript frameworks.
  • Strong understanding of API integration, performance optimisation, and modern UI engineering.
  • Solid grasp of cloud-based development (preferably Azure) and familiarity with DevOps pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions).
  • Exposure to .NET back-end environments or similar enterprise stacks.
  • Deep understanding of testing methodologies and automation principles.
  • Exceptional communication skills and the ability to influence at all levels.
  • A proven track record of technical leadership within large-scale, product-driven teams.

Package & Benefits

  • Salary: up to £100,000 per annum
  • Bonus: up to 30%
  • Car Allowance
  • Flexible hybrid working (North England hubs - Leeds + Manchester)
  • Career-defining opportunity within a global transformation programme
