About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Head of Software Engineering to lead our clients development team for a leading fintech firm based in Guildford. This is a hands-off role focused on people management, team leadership, and strategic growth. The ideal candidate must be based within a reasonable distance of the office in central Guildford; within 20 miles is preferred.
Key Responsibilities
- Leadership and Management:
- Lead and manage a team of approximately 25 developers.
- Foster a positive and productive working environment.
- Mentor and guide team members to achieve their career goals.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and provide constructive feedback.
- Strategic Planning and Execution:
- Develop and implement engineering strategies aligned with the company's goals.
- Oversee the software development lifecycle to ensure high-quality and timely delivery of projects.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless integration of software solutions.
- People Management:
- Drive recruitment efforts to attract and retain top talent.
- Ensure continuous professional development for the engineering team.
- Promote a culture of innovation, excellence, and continuous improvement.
- Technical Oversight:
- While the role is hands-off, a strong understanding of .NET technologies is required.
- Stay updated with industry trends and emerging technologies.
- Ensure best practices in software development and project management.
