Infrastructure Engineer – 6 Month Contract – £300/day (Outside IR35)
Location: Preston (Hybrid – 3 days onsite per week)

We’re looking for an experienced Infrastructure Engineer to join a leading UK business on a 6-month contract. The role will focus on maintaining and optimising a secure, high-performing digital workplace environment across hybrid infrastructure platforms.

The Role:
As the Infrastructure Engineer, you’ll play a key role in ensuring system reliability and security across on-premise and cloud environments. You’ll provide technical leadership on incident resolution, configuration, and performance optimisation, while driving continual improvements across end-user and infrastructure technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support and maintain Microsoft 365, Azure, and hybrid infrastructure platforms.

• Manage system monitoring, patching, and capacity planning activities.

• Troubleshoot complex incidents and provide 3rd line technical support.

• Oversee the lifecycle of hardware and software assets.

• Produce and maintain technical documentation and environment standards.

• Contribute to infrastructure improvement initiatives and system optimisation.

Skills & Experience Required:

• Proven experience in infrastructure or end-user computing roles.

• Strong hands-on skills with Microsoft 365, Azure AD, Intune, Exchange, and Active Directory.

• Knowledge of IIS/Apache, hybrid cloud, and endpoint management tools (SCCM, ManageEngine, etc.).

• Good understanding of ITIL processes and security best practice.

• Excellent troubleshooting and communication skills.

Additional Information:

• Hybrid working: 3 days onsite in Preston, 2 days remote.

• Some on-call and UK travel flexibility required.
