Data Engineer – Contract – £650/day Outside IR35 – London (Hybrid)

Are you an experienced Data Engineer with expertise across multi-cloud environments?

Our client, a FTSE250 retail trading company, is transforming its data capability and is seeking a contractor to play a key role in designing, building, and optimising their data pipelines and infrastructure.

The Role:

• Design and implement scalable, secure data pipelines across GCP and AWS

• Integrate and transform data between cloud services and on-prem Oracle databases

• Deliver real-time and batch solutions to trading, risk, and analytics teams

• Optimise system performance to support latency-sensitive trading applications

• Automate workflows using Terraform, CI/CD, and containerisation tools (Docker/Kubernetes)

• Ensure compliance with financial regulations (MiFID II, FCA)

Skills & Experience Required:

• Strong experience in GCP and AWS (BigQuery, Pub/Sub, Dataflow, S3, Glue, Redshift)

• Advanced Oracle SQL/PLSQL with complex stored procedures

• Proficiency in Python, Java, or Scala

• Knowledge of data modelling, ETL/ELT patterns, and data warehousing

• Experience with Kubernetes, Agile delivery, and CI/CD

• Financial services or trading environment experience is highly advantageous

Contract Details:

• Day Rate: £650/day (Outside IR35)

• Location: London – Hybrid (3 days onsite)

• Duration: Initial contract with extensions likely
