Assistant Transformation Manager – 3 Month Contract – Hybrid (Surrey)

We’re looking for an Assistant Transformation Manager to help shape, support and deliver major change across a wide-reaching Local Authority. You’ll work as part of a team that’s at the heart of operational change, everything from improving services for young people to supporting new ways of working in social care, education and wellbeing.

This is an opportunity to get under the skin of complex systems, drive efficiencies, benchmark best practice, and support frontline services in delivering better outcomes. You’ll work closely with senior stakeholders, collaborate across departments, and take ownership of smaller projects within larger transformation programmes.

What you’ll be doing:

• Supporting Transformation Managers in delivering change initiatives

• Leading workstreams and small projects with clear goals and measurable impact

• Analysing data, identifying service improvements and driving practical outcomes

• Supporting the application of programme and project management methodologies

• Working directly with services to implement process improvements

• Navigating a politically sensitive environment with tact and professionalism

What we’re looking for:

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Confidence working with stakeholders and cross-functional teams

• Experience supporting transformation or change projects (public or private sector)

• Familiarity with project management tools and approaches

• A proactive, positive, and flexible mindset – able to adapt to shifting priorities

• A keen eye for continuous improvement and best practice benchmarking

• DBS Clearance is required.
