We are on the lookout for a passionate .Net Engineering Manager to spearhead the development team for our client's highly profitable division. This role is pivotal in aligning software development lifecycle processes and best practices across the business.
This position is paying up to £95,000 + Benefits for the right person.
It's a hybrid role with the expectation of 2 days in the office a week.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and inspire a team of software developers, balancing technical and managerial aspects.
- Collaborate with Solution Architects, Product Owners, Developers, DevOps, and QA Engineers to deliver new product features.
- Contribute to analysing business requirements, internal designs, and non-functional requirements, estimating user stories, and adhering to industry best practices and secure development guidelines.
- Act as a subject matter expert, guiding technical decisions within the team.
- Provide proactive feedback to stakeholders on system maintenance and improvements, helping shape the overall product and technology roadmap.
- Identify and prioritise process improvements within the development team.
- Manage the development team, including interviewing and hiring new team members.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Proven experience in a leadership role within a modern software development environment.
- Over 10 years of experience with Microsoft development technologies (.Net, SQL Server).
- Proficiency in asynchronous, multi-threaded, and parallel programming.
- Expertise in improving, refactoring, and rewriting code.
- Experience with Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines.
- Ability to analyse, prioritise, and manage technical debt.
- Strong problem-solving skills, capable of delivering practical and effective solutions.
- Experience in preparing technical business cases to support technical roadmap priorities.
Desired Skills & Experience:
- Experience migrating applications to the cloud (AWS).
- Knowledge of PCI DSS Level 1 compliance environments (preferred).
- Payments industry experience (advantageous).
