Chief Technology Officer / CTO – Lead Digital Transformation and Innovation

Location: Hybrid (Main offices in the North West and the Midlands)
Salary: Up to £130,000 per annum + bonus + LTIP + comprehensive benefits package

We’re seeking a Chief Technology Officer / CTO to lead and transform our client's software engineering capabilities, drive innovation, and deliver exceptional digital experiences to their customers. This high-impact role offers a unique opportunity for a seasoned leader, such as a Technology Director or Director of Software Engineering to step into this pivotal position.

About the Role: As the Chief Technology Officer / CTO, you will oversee a diverse and dynamic engineering team of up to 150 members. You’ll lead the agile transformation and steer the delivery of cutting-edge solutions across a portfolio of impactful products. Partnering with business leaders, you'll ensure a seamless digital journey for customers while driving engineering excellence and embedding a DevOps mindset.

Key Responsibilities:

Define and implement a visionary software engineering strategy.
Champion an agile, lean, and DevOps culture to improve workflows and outcomes.
Collaborate with Product, UX, and Agile Delivery teams to align resources and achieve product goals.
Oversee the delivery of software development, architecture, and quality assurance.
Lead talent development initiatives to attract, retain, and grow engineering talent.
Drive the adoption of innovative cloud technologies (Azure/AWS) and modern software architectures.
Maintain oversight of technical debt and lead its remediation.

What We're Looking For:

Proven leadership in large-scale software engineering teams (min 50+ headcount).
Experience in senior R&D, software engineering, or CTO-level roles.
Expertise in modern development frameworks (e.g., .Net, Node.js, React) and cloud platforms.
A solid understanding of Agile, Lean, and DevOps principles.
Exceptional skills in fostering a collaborative, high-performing team culture.
Strong knowledge of cybersecurity, data privacy, and CI/CD operations.
